Hong Kong has a widespread community of hobby gamers – people who play tabletop wargames, trading card games, and pencil and paper games like Dungeons & Dragons. They gather in hobby shops across the city, looking for the next match, shiny Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering sets, Warhammer models, or just to hang out in general.
We established Premier Hobby Collective (PHC) in December 2024 to be Hong Kong’s nexus for these groups. PHC is a community hub for hobbyists, run by real hobbyists, and is run by a few driven individuals with more than three collective decades’ experience in these hobbies. Together, we built a space for people to make friends, play games, get advice, work on their hobby projects, or find the latest deals.
We stock Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, and The Old World, as well as One Piece TCG, with more to come. But, being a group of passionate hobbyists, we wouldn’t be satisfied if PHC were just a generic store. So, we installed electric tables to play these games, alongside the playing mats and terrains they use. We bought lockers for miniatures or cards. We built painting and airbrushing stations, and dedicated a VIP room for private games. We partnered with NightWorks to sell affordable, high-quality painting supplies. We contract seasoned painters for commissions to paint your miniatures to one of three tiers of quality.
Altogether, we are less interested in simple sales than we are in providing an experience that keeps bringing you back. We are never happier than when we see a couple of sixes on a dice turn around an unwinnable game, or when you open a booster pack to find that ultra-rare card (which we sell protective cases for as well as providing grading services). We share in your joy, and want you to share in our vision – where PHC is a home for a thriving community of old and new hobbyists, who introduce their friends and children to the wonders of the games they play. As of writing, we are building out our calendar of events to include more regular gaming nights and get-togethers.
